Recently I told you that my opponent Kevin Lincoln raised more than any Republican I’ve ever faced while in office - and he was the #2 GOP raiser in the country! Unfortunately, all the talk about him being the top Republican challenger turned out to be true.

It’s a scary thought that my opponent could join Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz in Congress - and if we lose this seat, there is no way Democrats will have enough seats to win back the majority.

Where we stand: We are now in one of the most competitive races in the country. We can’t control how much money our opponent raises, but we sure as heck can control how we respond.

Why this matters: We know that we have to get ahead of our opponent’s warchest early. He’s going to have millions of dollars to spend on attacks against me plus whatever national republicans throw in as well. We have to be nimble and be able to respond quickly. Ideally we have enough funding to run our own proactive, positive ads first.

What decisions we need to make: The most important decision I have to make right now is how much budget we can put behind these positive ads. While we want to get these up and running ASAP, we also have to be conscious of our cash-on-hand. I refuse to let a single dollar of your generous donations go to waste and we can’t afford to overspend too early.

Other considerations: Obviously the other issue is outside money. At any moment, Republican Super PACs could funnel millions of dollars to my opponent to flip this seat red - on top of the five figures they’ve already spent against me so far this year! We have to be prepared for anything.

What I need from this team: Our end-of-month deadline is only 5 days away and I need your help to reach our goal of $10,000. If we fall short, I’ll have to pause our plans.
