Youngkin bets abortion ban is winner in VA and beyond
Glenn Youngkin has tied Virginia Republicans’ hopes for winning next month’s legislative elections to his extreme strategy of banning abortion access in our Commonwealth.
His proposal, if implemented, would end VA’s status as the only state in the South without an abortion ban. And it would immediately imperil the women seeking to access reproductive health care who rightly view Virginia as a safe haven from the restrictive policies in other states.
And there’s one more thing: Youngkin is betting that this policy will be so successful that it will boost toward a run for federal office -- either the Senate or the presidency -- in 2024.
Youngkin would make for a horrible Senator, to say nothing of what he would do as president. He views himself as a governor in the style of Ron DeSantis and is looking to take his diabolical schemes to the national level.
