The Williams Campaign is Ba-a-a-ack!

After 350Brooklyn helped stop the Williams pipeline, National Grid agreed to draft a long-term plan for gas supply, hold public meetings, and publish a final report.

Well, the draft report came out last week and it calls for a robust expansion of gas use in National Grid’s service areas.

This is absurd. National Grid should not be planning our energy future.

National Grid has scheduled six meetings in March to “inform” us about its plans and to “let us” ask questions of their experts. One of these public meetings is on Tuesday, March 24 at Borough Hall in Downtown Brooklyn.

Sign up here to have your say! We need to turn out in force and show National Grid, Williams, and New York State officials that the people of Brooklyn are not going to be pushed around on dangerous fracked gas pipelines.

Calendar and Announcements

Renew your commitment to Renewable Rikers

We are rolling into phase two of the Renewable Rikers Campaign, which will turn Rikers into a hub for renewable energy (learn more here).

We need commitments to support all three bills from our City Council Members and partners as the bills 1592 is revised.

And it’s all happening this week and next!

Can you reach out to your Council Member (found here) and confirm their support for a Renewable Rikers?

If so, contact Eric Eisner [email protected] or Joanne Boger [email protected], include your Brooklyn Council Member’s name in the subject line, and we will provide an intro letter and talking points!

Kids and Families: Tell Cuomo We Need Climate Action!

Governor Cuomo signed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Now it’s time for him to fund it.

So let him hear from you and your kids!

We’ve got letters to write (and draw!), and a press conference on March 16 to deliver them.

Here's a sample letter. Please share it with other parents and educators. And join us at the press conference!

Baby Steps from Chase

Chase's announcement that they will stop funding some coal projects came as more than 100 activists greeted Chase's biggest investors at their annual meeting. Check out the video!

But the announced changes leave Chase nowhere near Paris Accord commitments!

Our action is working! Keep the pressure on Chase: join the campaign.

The Plastic Problem

Plastic is a problem. What are the solutions?

Join 350Brooklyn as we delve into the issue with guest speakers Deia Schlosberg, Director of The Story of Plastic, Brian Langloss of Oceana, and Berna Turnal from Upstream.

Everyone is welcome, March 12, 7:30pm at Commons Cafe.
