Tomorrow is Prescription Drug Take Back Day. In October we observe Energy Awareness Month, Disability Employment Awareness Month, Diversity Awareness Month, Italian American Heritage Month, Polish-American Heritage Month, and Seafood Month.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day: October 28 at 10:00 AM

U.S. seasonally adjusted total value of shipments of pharmaceutical and medicine manufacturing grew from $67 billion in 1992 to $255 billion in 2021.

Global Diversity Awareness Month: October

Diversity is all the ways in which we differ: race, ethnicity, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, parental status, educational background, etc.

Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month: October

The  American Community Survey estimated 16 million people or 4.8% of the total 333.3 million U.S. population in 2022 reported Italian ancestry.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month: October

The  American Community Survey estimated that 9.8M noninstitutionalized civilians with a disability in the U.S. were employed and 1.0M were unemployed in 2022.

National Energy Awareness Month: October

There were 3,856 U.S. electric power generation stations with 124,532 paid employees and an annual payroll of $15.9B in 2021, according to the County Business Patterns report.

National Seafood Month: October

The County Business Patterns survey counted 10,894 establishments, $4.94B annual payroll, and 94,456 employees in U.S. fishing, seafood and marina industries in 2021.

Polish-American Heritage Month: October

The 2022 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 331.9M. About 8.2M (roughly 2.5%) reported Polish ancestry.
