Rep. Loudermilk on New Republican Speaker, Mike Johnson

Press Release: Rep. Loudermilk Congratulates Speaker Mike Johnson as the House Gets Back to Work

Washington, D.C. (October, 25, 2023) | Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after the election of a new Speaker of the House and passage of H. Res. 771 - Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.

"Congratulations to my good friend and now the 56th Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. Mike is a man of principle, integrity, and faith, and a solid conservative. I know he will do a great job leading the House and the nation toward fiscal sanity, government accountability, a prosperous economy, secure borders, and a safer homeland. I look forward to working with Speaker Johnson, and that work has already begun.

"I commend our new Speaker for making our first order of business letting our greatest ally in the Middle East know that the United States stands resolutely with them. By passing H. Res. 771 - Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists, we are also sending a strong message to Hamas, Hezbollah, and anyone bent on the destruction of Israel; America will support Israel as they defend themselves, and hunt down ruthless murderers."
