Eighteen.

That is the number of new signers to the Patients Over Profits pledge just in the last month. That brings our total to 131 politicians who refuse to accept campaign contributions of $200 or more from the for-profit health care industry.

This is a strong signal that this people-powered campaign and our tactics are working! Volunteers are attending events in their communities across the country, asking candidates to take the pledge, and building the strength of our movement. But, we need your help now more than ever.

If we’re going to reach our goal of 150 politicians signed onto the pledge by Thanksgiving, we need to put in some more work! We’ve assembled Patients Over Profits Special Volunteer Teams for direct involvement in particular areas. The three teams are:

In-Person Events Team: attend in-person events near you, such as candidate forums, and ask politicians to sign the pledge!
Research Team: look up information on the internet to aid the work of other volunteers. Can be done in your own time, from home!
Outreach Team: contact candidates and elected officials digitally and ask them to sign the pledge. Can be done in your own time, from home!
