MAGA Mike is bad for Congress and bad for the American people.

On Wednesday, House Republicans finally elected a Speaker of the House, and we can finally get back to work for the American people.
But, we knew that whoever Republicans elected would not be good for the American people, and I hate to say that we were right.
So, who is Mike Johnson?
→ He was “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections,” making him instrumental in Republicans’ effort to “Stop the Steal” and overturn the 2020 election.
→ He is the most vocal climate change skeptic to hold the Speakership and has taken nearly a quarter million dollars in campaign contributions from the oil and gas industries.
→ He has claimed the primary use of abortion is as birth control and stated that abortions are responsible for school shootings:
“Many women use abortion as a form of birth control, you know, in certain segments of society, and it’s just shocking and sad, but this is where we are. When you break up the nuclear family, when you tell a generation of people that life has no value, no meaning, that it’s expendable, then you do wind up with school shooters.”

His Congressional record doesn’t get any better from there. His career has been riddled with efforts to deny same-sex Marriage, repeal the Affordable Care Act, and gut Social Security and Medicare funding – which 40% of his constituents rely on for health care.
