The 1969 White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, and Health spurred major improvements and expansions of federal food and nutrition programs, which has led to significant reductions in hunger and related diseases.  More than 50 years later, the United States faces a very different but equally urgent national crisis of nutrition, including diet-related obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Disparities in the accessibility, affordability, and sustainability of nutritious foods have also increased. 

Please join the Bipartisan Policy Center as it hosts an important discussion on these critical issues and the release of a new report by the co-chairs of the 50th Anniversary Conference.
