John,
Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we’ve seen Republicans ban access to life-saving abortion care every chance they get. But on Election Day this November 7th, we have some major opportunities to defend abortion freedom.
We’re fighting like hell to protect and expand the freedom to receive abortion care in states like Ohio and Virginia, and to elect working class champions across the country who will stand up for abortion rights. Can you chip in to reach more voters in these final days before Election Day? Every additional voter we can reach over the next 11 days will make a difference.

The battle for abortion freedom is being fought on multiple fronts this year — including two states with races that could have a huge impact: Ohio and Virginia.
In Ohio, voters are deciding on a ballot measure that would codify abortion access into the state constitution, protecting it from future attacks. But Republicans have been playing dirty.
Earlier this year, in a transparent attempt to override voters who support reproductive freedom, they attempted to change state rules to require 60% approval on any ballot measure for it to pass — as opposed to the normal 50% majority. But after months of organizing, Ohioans turned out against this subversion of democracy and voted against it 57-43. Now, we need to ensure that we get voters to the polls to hit that 50% threshold and codify abortion rights in Ohio once and for all.
Virginia stands as the only state in the South that has not restricted abortion access since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, making it a safe place for pregnant people in the region to receive necessary medical care. But Republicans in the State House have introduced a bill that would make it a felony for doctors to perform abortions after a number of weeks, with support from GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin, who aims for Virginia to be the blueprint for how to pass abortion bans in states around the country. The only thing keeping Virginia from passing an abortion ban is a small Democratic majority in the State Senate.
In 11 days, every seat in the Virginia state legislature is up for election, and with new districts, we have a crucial opportunity to expand our majority in the State Senate and take back the State House. That’s why Republicans have launched a $1.4 million ad buy to attack reproductive justice and turn out anti-abortion voters.1 But organized people are the best defense against organized money, and together, we can elect representatives who will protect the freedom to receive abortion care.
In over a dozen other states, the Working Families Party is turning out voters for candidates in next month’s elections who will fight for the right to receive an abortion. And early voting is already underway in several states, including Ohio and Virginia.
If you’re with us, help us reach as many voters as possible from now through Election Day. Contribute to support our organizing for abortion freedom in Ohio, Virginia, and across the country now.
