John, The LA Times just published this piece highlighting my strong foreign policy credentials – and the major differences between my opponents and me on key questions and war and peace.
When our nation was reeling from the tragic 9/11 attacks and President Bush rushed into a war days later, I was the only person in Congress to vote against the Authorization for Use of Military Force. Adam Schiff voted for it.
When the Patriot Act was introduced weeks after 9/11, I voted against the grossly violating bill. Adam Schiff voted for it.
As the military budget continues to bloat year after year, I continuously push to slash Pentagon spending and voted against the last seven annual defense spending bills. Adam Schiff voted for every single one of those bills.
And where does Katie Porter stand? During her first two years in Congress, she voted for the bloated annual defense spending bills before eventually changing her stance.
Now, I'm the only candidate in this race calling for a ceasefire in the devastating conflict that has claimed the lives of thousands of people in Israel and Gaza.
John, I'm running for Senate because we need more advocates for peace and for prioritizing diplomacy, foreign aid and humanitarian assistance, as key pillars in U.S. foreign policy.
Will you join me in helping to build a better foreign policy and a more peaceful world when I’m in the U.S. Senate?

Thank you for standing with me in this fight.
Barbara Lee
