John, when I went
to book COVID booster appointments for my three kids, I was disappointed
to find the earliest appointments were a month out, and I couldn’t find
consecutive appointments for our family.
Getting a COVID vaccine should be like getting a flu shot. Simple,
convenient, and accessible. But some insurance companies are delaying or
denying vaccine coverage, which is preventing Americans from getting
protected.
This vaccine roll-out is the first in which the federal government has not
been responsible for purchasing and distributing COVID-19 shots. With
insurance companies now a critical piece of the puzzle, their
administrative red tape has made it difficult for folks to find
“in-network” coverage.
This is BS. Insurance companies had ample time to prepare for this
expected demand for vaccines. I wrote a letter to the executives at
insurance companies like Kaiser and Blue Cross Blue Shield, asking them to
address the red tape and prohibitive costs that Americans have experienced
while trying to get vaccinated.
I’m waiting on their response, and I’ll continue doing everything I can to
hold Big Insurance companies accountable. Can you add your name in support
of my letter?

And don’t forget to look for a COVID vaccine appointment sooner rather
than later.
