Since Tammy Duckworth and I first
introduced the Support Through Loss Act last Congress, so many families
have shared with us their experiences with pregnancy loss.

For anyone navigating this, I want you to know that you are not alone.

And the toll of pregnancy loss is not something we should take lightly.
It’s a common experience that should be met with care, compassion, and
support. But many struggle in silence due to the lack of awareness and
cultural stigma around miscarriages.

This week, I’m proud to be reintroducing the Support Through Loss Act — a
first-of-its-kind bill that sheds light on these shared experiences and
helps ensure that those experiencing pregnancy loss are supported with the
resources and patient-centered care they need.

[ [link removed] ]But first, I need your help: Will you show your support
for people dealing with pregnancy loss by adding your name as a grassroots
co-sponsor of this critical legislation?

ADD YOUR NAME

Here are some of the key policies that the Support Through Loss Act will
make possible:

* Invest $45 million annually to the National Institutes of Health for
federal research into miscarriage and pregnancy loss;
* Require the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to develop
and provide information regarding pregnancy loss, including
information on its prevalence and the range of treatment options
available;
* Ensure employers provide at least seven days of paid leave for workers
to process and cope following a pregnancy loss, an unsuccessful
assisted reproductive technology procedure, a failed adoption
arrangement, a failed surrogacy arrangement, or a medical diagnosis or
event that impacts pregnancy or fertility.

[ [link removed] ]As we reintroduce this bill, it’s important for the public to show
strong support for this critical legislation. So
if you
agree that the government should better support parents who are
experiencing pregnancy loss, please add your name to become a grassroots
co-sponsor of the Support Through Loss Act.

Yours in service,

Ayanna
