Would you recognise the signs of gambling harm?
gambling awareness
Gambling can affect physical and mental health, damage relationships and leave people feeling lonely and isolated. It can also cause problems with employment, education, housing and lead to serious debt.
Gambling products are widely used and strongly promoted by the industry. It is commonly misinterpreted as being limited to casino-style games and to sports betting, yet there are many other forms of gambling including scratch cards, bingo, lotteries, and in-console gaming.
Gambling-related harm is under-recognised and often hidden. Many people being harmed by gambling don’t see themselves as a person with a problem and don’t recognise the issues it’s causing. When people do recognise they may have a problem, it can be hard to talk about it, or to reach out for help because of guilt, shame or worry.
If you notice that you, or someone you know is feeling stressed, anxious or isolated, or thinking about gambling a lot of the time, it could be a sign of gambling harm.

Levelling up our city’s streetlights
streetlights
Nottingham City Council secured a grant from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund to update the city’s streetlights with new, energy-efficient LEDs.
So far, more than 25,000 have been installed, saving more than 1.21 Gigawatt hours of electricity – that is the enough to power 450 homes for a year, or one (albeit fictional) flux capacitor! More here [ [link removed] ]

Steaming Sunday at Nottingham Industrial Museum
steam hall museum
If you are looking for a fun, family-friendly and educational activity to do on Sunday why not check out Steaming Sunday at the Nottingham Industrial Museum in Wollaton Park.
Steaming Sunday showcases some of the machines at the museum in action. You can see our extensive collection of working static and portable engines, including the Basford Beam Engine in steam.
We have a really proud industrial heritage in Nottingham and the museum’s exhibits reflect the railway, bicycle, motorcycle, lace, telecommunication, pharmaceutical, and tobacco industries that once employed generations of people in Nottingham with famous names like Raleigh, Brough, Players, Boots, Humber, and Reader.
