This is a longer email, so I hope you’ll give me a few minutes to explain. But first, I have to tell you that our October fundraising deadline is only five days away, and we’re well short of our $75,000 goal for the month. If that’s all you need to know, click here to donate to close the gap.

I’ve spent the past fifteen years serving North Carolina. I’ve advocated for consumers, worked to keep communities and families safe, held corporate wrongdoers to account, and defended reproductive and voting rights.

North Carolina is also my home. My wife Anna and I both grew up here. We raised our three kids here. They all went to North Carolina public schools, just like Anna and I did.

I love this state and think it’s the best place to live, work, and raise a family. But I’m deeply concerned by the path we’re heading down.

Thanks to a Republican supermajority in the legislature, we’re facing further attacks on our rights and attempts to institute far-right extremist policies that would drag us backward.

And if we lose the Governor’s Office to the GOP, they could get away with all of it.

Team, this race truly is a toss-up. Experts are calling it the most competitive — and most important — governor’s race of 2024. Republicans are ready to go to any lengths to defeat me, and they could win.
