Well, it looks like Republicans have finally picked a new Speaker of the House.

Mike Johnson is an election-denier who supported the insurrection on January 6th.

He’s also fought against same-sex marriage, wants to completely ban abortion nationwide, and has come out in favor of slashing critical programs like Social Security and Medicare.

And since he’s been in Congress, Mike Johnson has taken more campaign money from the oil and gas industry than any other industry, while repeatedly denying the reality of climate change.

This is the standard-bearer for the GOP in 2023. This is the agenda they will implement, if given the chance.

That’s unacceptable to me, and it’s why I’m working so hard to support my Democratic colleagues in the Senate and ensure they have the resources to win tough races and hold the majority.

And honestly, that work is only possible because of you. It’s not a few big-money donors that power our work — it’s lots and lots of grassroots supporters giving what they can.
