Dear MoveOn member,
We are feeling fired up after an inspiring weekend building member power
at the MoveOn summit in Atlanta—celebrating MoveOn’s 25th birthday and
connecting and organizing ahead of the 2024 election.
Over the years, MoveOn has been a xxxxxx against the radical right and a
beacon for progressive change. We’ve mobilized millions of people to
advance justice and build a future where we all can thrive. And most
importantly, we’ve been a political home for members like you who—from
local to national campaigns—made the collective wins of the past 25 years
possible.
That’s why MoveOn brought members together in person for the first time in
five years to celebrate this milestone and spark the momentum we need to
win the White House, the Senate, and take back the House in 2024. [ [link removed] ]Sign

MoveOn Executive Director Rahna Epting said it best at Saturday's opening
session: "Members like you are the heart and soul of this vibrant
community. We, the people—we are why we are powerful. Why we are
effective. And why we have been able to be so impactful over the last 25
years. Because when we come together, millions of us, to take collective
action…That is power, folks."
We know how important it is to invest in members in order to build power
for our movement. MoveOn members, partners, and staff led sessions to
develop the skills and expertise needed to win—with topics including
artificial intelligence (AI), LGBTQ+ campaigning, organizing tactics, and
even TikTok dances—all designed to gear up for 2024. We asked members
about their main takeaway following the summit, and here’s what they had
to say:
"I really can make and have made a difference." –Carol G.
"We are in this together. Our collective voices have power!!" –Bonita T.
"I am not alone. And, together, we can win the elections, because our
policies and progressive ideas are also the ideas of the vast majority of
Americans." –Patrick C.
"I am more proud than ever to be a member of MoveOn." –William A.

We envision a future where we all can live full and joyful lives—so we
take connection and celebration just as seriously as training and
education. A youth drumline got members fired up during the summit’s
opening session. Members of different backgrounds and generations danced
and cheered each other on in a dance circle during Saturday night’s
entertainment. Rapper Common shouted out MoveOn (multiple times) and even
(surprise!) brought a member onto the stage. Chris Percy, as emcee,
literally had the crowd laughing out loud and cheering his name by the end
of the weekend.
[ [link removed] ]Our joy is worth fighting for—and we’re grateful to be in this fight
with you.
We’re not going to sugarcoat it: We have a lot of work ahead of us to make
our vision for the future a reality. The unrelenting attacks by MAGA
Republicans against our communities and freedoms is an ongoing threat to
our democracy. But as Maurice Mitchell from the Working Families Party
said last weekend, “Where they have money, we have people power. And our
people power is endless.”
Our people power may be endless, but it makes a difference only if we are
organized and choose to collectively exercise it. That’s why MoveOn is
starting our election program earlier than ever. [ [link removed] ]Sign up now to be a
vote mobilizer to defeat MAGA and win the House, Senate, and White House
in 2024.
Thanks for all you do.
–Gabi, Chris, Saskia, Chloe and the rest of the team
Want to support MoveOn's work? Book bans have skyrocketed thanks to
right-wing state laws which have forced teachers to remove books from
their classrooms. In response, MoveOn is launching a "Banned Bookmobile,"
filling it with books that the far right has banned, and driving it around
to hand out those books, for free, in highly trafficked areas that will
attract media attention. To keep the Banned Bookmobile up and running into
2024, we need your help.
