- When Lisa was 14, she wanted a telephone in her room. Her Dad replied, “you want a telephone, go get a job.” She walked down the street to the first Black-owned McDonald’s in Delaware, applied, and got the job – and later her telephone.
- Woodsy the Owl and Smokey the Bear were some of Lisa’s favorite childhood characters. In Congress, she's been a staunch fighter for legislation that would combat climate change.
- Lisa loves to dance and took ballet classes from the age of 6 to 17. But, she won't spin the facts about her record: she's fought for Delaware families from Day One.
- To Sir, with Love featuring actor Sidney Poitier is Lisa’s favorite movie. Poitier was a trailblazer for the Black community and inspired Lisa to break every barrier possible in life.
- At University of Delaware, Lisa studied international relations. She's prepared to take on tough challenges at home and abroad.
Lisa is a mother, grandmother, and Congresswoman – and now, she's running a historic campaign to protect our Democratic Senate majority. But, Republicans are desperate to undo our progress and dismantle LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, Social Security benefits, and so much more.
