** The Silence of Others UN Screening Recap

Last week, POV hosted a screening of The Silence of Others ([link removed][UNIQID]) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Attended by filmmakers Robert Bahar and Almudena Carracedo, film protagonists and U.N. members, the event included a panel discussion on transitional justice.

** POV Headed to SXSW

POV is heading to Austin for this year's SXSW film festival. POV Shorts producer Opal H. Bennett and vice president of external affairs Theresa Navarro are featured at film mentors and round tables ([link removed][UNIQID]) , and members of the POV Engage team are attending SXSW EDU ([link removed][UNIQID]) . NYWIFT and The D-Word are co-hosting a panel discussion “Mental Health and Career Sustainability in the Doc World” to open up a conversation on the financial, psychological, and emotional work required of filmmakers and how to best seek out as well as provide support. The event takes place March 31 at 6pm. Register here ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

[link removed][UNIQID] support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, CAAM ([link removed][UNIQID]) is now accepting submissions for documentary projects in production or post-production looking for funding. The project must be intended for public-broadcasting. Apply here ([link removed][UNIQID]) by March 27.
