Read this today.? ? ? ? ? This story is still developing? A federal judge in Idaho has just voided nearly 1 million acres of oil and gas leases, ruling that a Trump administration policy to cut public input out of the leasing process was illegal.

The oil and gas industry is going ballistic ? the decision was unexpected, and a massive fight to re-secure the land for drilling operations is now underway.

We need to organize in a major way, but we have to move quickly. Future leases must have 30-day public comment and administrative protest periods before they can move forward. We need to flood the administration with comments. We need to put serious pressure on Congress to intervene. To pull that off, we need your help.

A donor had agreed to triple-match every contribution to LCV through the end of last month. We just got permission to extend that match ? which means every contribution you make will be tripled.

Please pitch in ? whatever you can afford will make a huge difference right now, even if it's just $5 ? [link removed]

FOR IMMEDIATE REVIEW: TRIPLE MATCH STATUS
Please confirm NAME: Friend Friend SUPPORTER EMAIL: [email protected] GOAL: $100,000 by March 31, 2020 PROGRESS: 4% to goal STATUS: STILL PENDING - DONATE TODAY ? [link removed] I want you to know ? this is a fight we can win, but it's not the only one we're up against right now. Hitting this goal matters SO, so much ? here are a few more reasons why: Because the Trump administration just proposed gutting the National Environmental Policy Act, and the comment period is about to end. It would mean agencies would no longer consider climate change when approving major projects like highways, pipelines, and other infrastructure proposals, and could ignore public input. We're making a final urgent push to block the new rule, but we have to move quickly if we have any chance at all. You can help. Make a donation to the League of Conservation Voters today ? [link removed] Because the Trump administration is about to sell access to the area around the Grand Canyon to allow uranium mining. The Grand Canyon has been home to Indigenous communities, including the Havasupai, Hualapai, Hopi, and Navajo Nation communities, for millennia. Congress is pushing to block the sale, but we need major grassroots pressure if we have any chance of succeeding. Please ? chip in to LCV today. Even $5 can make a huge difference ? [link removed] Because the 2020 presidential race is in full swing, and we need the environmental movement to be pushing ? HARD. Through our Change the Climate 2020 campaign, we've been pushing every major presidential candidate to make sure they have serious plans to fight climate change, including their ideas to invest in communities that are hit hardest by its effects. We need YOUR help to keep up the drumbeat of pressure ? [link removed] Because even after Trump pulled the United States from the Paris agreement, there's still a real shot at holding ourselves to the commitments we made as a country. After aggressive grassroots campaigns, state and local governments are setting their own emissions limits. This is stuff that doesn't always make front page news ? but it's huge, and it only happens when the environmental movement demands it. Friend ? your donation keeps this work going ? [link removed] Bottom line ? we cannot afford to go dark right now, but we need your help to keep going in every one of these fights. Thank you so much for your support. We couldn't do this work without you.
