Hey there,
With just 5 days before our critical end-of-month fundraising deadline, I need to ask you to chip in $5 to keep Delaware and the Senate blue.
Yes, I know that this sounds like a fundraising gimmick, but the reasons for it couldn’t be more serious.
- Democrats are defending a 51-49 Senate majority. The odds are stacked against us, but I’m used to defying expectations as a Black woman in politics. The problem is, Black women candidates raise one-third of what white women candidates do.
- My second GOP opponent just jumped into this race. We need to be ready and able to respond to anything, whether that’s shady outside groups funding our opponents, attacks from the establishment, or even more opponents entering the race.
- I’m falling $25,923 short of our end-of-month fundraising goal. What we raise will set the tone for the rest of 2023. If we don’t close the gap, it could lead to us trimming our budget; a slew of outside spending; Delaware’s Senate seat getting flipped. You get the idea.
Asking you for $5 with 5 days until our end-of-month deadline is a little silly, I’ll admit, but the truth is that this race will have historic implications for our country. So please, rush $5 or whatever you can to ensure we reach our end-of-month fundraising goal.
Whether you’re able to give $5 or $50, every single dollar counts in a race as historic as this one.
