The court has ruled GA Republicans illegally discriminated against Black voters.

John, a federal court just ruled that Georgia’s district lines must be redrawn. Republicans now have another chance to attempt to draw me out of Congress - and I’ve got to be prepared.

When I ran for re-election to Congress, Republicans in the state legislature gerrymandered my district to make it GOP-heavy in a direct attempt to make me lose my seat. Now, the court has ruled that what they did was discriminatory against Black folks in the area.

I’m glad the court ruled that the GOP’s actions were illegal, but the fight is just beginning. Georgia Republicans have another chance to redraw the lines, and I know they’ll try their hardest to bend the rules in their favor yet again to kick me out of Congress. John, can you sign here to say you’re on Team Lucy as I face attacks from the GOP?

Black voters account for a huge percentage of Georgia’s steep population growth in recent years. Republicans are terrified of our collective power, and did everything they could to take away our fair and equal representation.

But – I wouldn’t let them tear me down, and I stood up tall in the face of their discrimination. I’ll never let Georgia Republicans in the state legislature determine when my time in Congress is over.

The federal court has done its job in ruling that the GOP broke the law. Now I need my grassroots supporters to stand beside me as Republicans work to redraw the lines another time. It would mean the world to me if you signed on to show your support in the wake of this breaking news →

Thanks so much, John. I couldn’t do this alone.

Onward,
