Subject: Let’s get out the vote!
Dear Nancy,
It’s 13 days until Election Day…are you ready to vote?
As your Lieutenant Governor, I have the opportunity to interact with municipal leaders on a regular basis. I can tell you from experience that solid local leaders are crucial to the smooth operation of our state.
Nov. 7th is our chance to decide whether we want local leaders committed to the education, health, and safety of our communities—or the extremist, performative, dysfunctional style of politics we see in Washington here at home.
I know you want the former, so that’s why I’m asking you to make a voting plan today.
Prepare to make your voice heard in the upcoming municipal election to ensure that Democrats running throughout the state who share your values have the support they need to be successful.
-
First, make sure you are registered to vote. Check your current registration status here. If you’re not registered yet, there’s still time to register online, or download a registration form to return by mail or present in person by October 31.
-
Make a plan to vote. Find your voting location for voting in person on Nov. 7th. Connecticut also offers absentee ballots and same-day registration if you need special arrangements. (You may have heard that Gov. Lamont recently signed an early voting bill into law as well, but that won’t go into effect until next year.)
- Talk to your family and friends. Are they registered? Do they have a plan to vote on Nov. 7th? Encourage them to register, and ensure they have an opportunity to make their voice heard too.
A strong state and a strong nation start with strong communities, and that’s what this Election Day is all about. Don’t sit this one out. VOTE on Nov. 7!
Sincerely,
Susan Bysiewicz
Lieutenant Governor
