Over the course of the last 15 months in this campaign, we have built a groundswell of support from people all across Colorado and the nation who are eager for a new type of leadership in the U.S. Senate. Half of our volunteers have never considered giving their time to a candidate and over 25% of our donors have never donated to a candidate before.

We are doing what our elections should be doing. Engaging people from all walks of life to have a true, people-centered democracy. We have not yet achieved this people-centered democracy. Donald Trump, Cory Gardner and Mitch McConnel continue to chip away at our democratic system. Washington gatekeepers continue to appoint their chosen candidates who will walk the line instead of fight for the people.

As long as corporations and big money can buy their way into our elections, the people who are fighting every day for the changes we need will continue to be silenced.

We will not let this continue. A young gay man from Colorado Springs wrote to me saying that he now believes he has a future because I am running as an out and proud Lesbian. A young woman in Yuma Colorado said that she fears ICE coming and taking her parents everyday, even though they are now naturalized citizens. A veteran family in Denver, who rely on government-assisted housing and food stamps, donated $5 to our campaign and in their note said "We wake up hopeful knowing you are fighting for us."
