Reminder: Americans Want Solutions, Not Divisiveness - As the 2024 presidential campaign heats up, divisive, misleading rhetoric on immigration is spreading — in contrast to the solutions Americans want. In recent polling, 81% of self-identified conservatives agreed that “[a]s the U.S. works to restore order at the border, it is important that Republicans and Democrats work together to pass immigration reforms that address labor shortages and inflation, and protect people already here and contributing.”
Rep. Roy issues statement upon Mike Johnson's election as Speaker of the House - A fellow conservative and a man of deep Christian faith, Mike believes in this country, our Constitution, American values, and the American way of life — and he isn’t afraid to fight for them. Over the past weeks of intense debate and deliberation, he has proven himself the right man for the right time — the man capable of uniting this conference so we can move forward and do what the American people sent us here to do.
The No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act - The No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act would permanently freeze the $6 billion the Biden administration released in their hostage deal with Iran last month. Iran is the largest state sponsor of terror in the world. Regardless of the administration's promises that the money will only be used for humanitarian purposes, the president of Iran has said he would use this money however he wants. We cannot give the Iranian regime another $6 billion for their terror operations, which include ongoing support for Hamas’ unprovoked war against our ally Israel.
Sens. Cruz, Cornyn Send Letter Confronting The Biden Administration’s Weaponization of the Endangered Species Act in Texas - U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) sent a letter to the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Service to express their strong concerns with the agency’s recently proposed rule that lists the toothless and widemouth blindcats, two underground species of blind, translucent catfish, as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The rule directly impacts the Edwards Aquifer in Bexar County, Texas, where these two catfish species reside, which provides over 1.7 million Texans with drinking water. The Biden administration has prioritized the well-being of blind catfish over the needs of people in San Antonio and south-central Texas for clean drinking water.
