Hi there --
Here are three things that you could miss this week if you're only paying attention to the presidential primaries:
- The Supreme Court heard arguments this week in a major reproductive access case -- over a law passed by the Republican-controlled state legislature that could shutter abortion clinics across the state of Louisiana and set a dangerous precedent, if upheld.
- Nida Allam, a Run for Something candidate, made history by winning her race for Durham County commissioner. She'll be the first ever Muslim woman to serve the state of North Carolina.
- The deadline to file to run in Georgia is tomorrow (!!)
Who we elect to state and local positions matters. We're working with hundreds of candidates and could-be-candidates to ensure that as many people as possible have a progressive to vote for in their local elections -- but we can only do this work with your support.
