Dear Neighbor,
With less than two weeks to go until November 7th, we are officially in the final days of this campaign.
If the news out of Prince William over the last month has reminded us of anything, it's that we have to change course.
-
The Board on Tuesday adopted a plan which could cost you $960 million in just the next seven years
-
Simultaneously, the PWEA Union is demanding you fork over $635 million more next year and continuing every year thereafter for across the board pay increases regardless of merit or performance
-
Aside from that, Ann Wheeler just proposed another residential tax increase on you to pay for government subsidized housing throughout the County
-
Not to be outdone, the candidate who defeated Wheeler in the primary, Deshundra Jefferson, has said she won't repeal the Meals Tax, but instead wants to use it to go towards 'Section 8 Housing' throughout the County. There's another $35-$40 million a year
-
The 20th person in the County was just murdered, keeping us on pace for the deadliest year AND deadliest two-year period in Prince William County history -- 20 last year and 20 more so far this year.
-
And the largest data center campus in the world, to be placed atop our treasured Manassas Battlefield, where 4,455 men lost their lives in the battle to end slavery, was sneakily scheduled for the lame duck session in December to avoid any accountability for the controversial vote
Folks, the price tag for the items mentioned above are astronomical and difficult to wrap your head around. But they're likely to be entirely funded, and mostly on your back unless we elect a citizen-first majority next month that doesn't treat your finances like their own personal piggybank to be raided over and over.
Please help us elect a majority committed to protecting your wallet - committed to protecting your safety - and committed to protecting the way of life we chose in Prince William County, today.
Significantly higher taxes, significantly higher crime, lower test-scores and college preparedness. This is what the last four years has wrought to Prince William County as a result of our governing majority's decisions.
And unless we stop it November 7th - all of it will accelerate.
I'll never ask you for anywhere near the amount the current majority has increased your taxes the last four years. But if you could chip in $10, $25, or even $50 to help us get the truth of what's happened over the last four years, and our common-sense solutions to fixing this mess, it will go a long way towards accomplishing that goal.
Thank you for the support you've been already.
