Council Member Advises Residents Not to Give Handouts to Homeless |
|

|
Moreno also said, “The more our homeless shelters are empowered, the more good they can do.” Councilman Moreno is right: it is harmful to give cash handouts to vagrants and donations to charity are the best way to help those who live on the streets. However, that only addresses half the problem. Shelters can only help those who seek out their services; unfortunately, many vagrants refuse to enter shelters or to enroll in programs designed to help them reenter society. Why? Because they aren’t victims of their circumstances…they are choosing them!
Dallas’s vagrancy crisis will only be solved when our city centralizes homeless services and empowers DPD to enforce Texas’s urban camping ban. Are you tired of seeing tents pop up around our city, making it dirtier and more dangerous? Contact your council member, and urge them to support a centralized homelessness solution like San Antonio’s Haven for Hope. Tell them to fund DPD so our police can do their job!

| Open Air Toilet Found in Moreno's District 2! |
KDS recently discovered that vagrants are using this stairwell as an open-air "toilet" — in front of City Hall! Even some of the vagrants around City Hall were disgusted that our city council allowed this blight to fester! Councilman Moreno may be right about handouts, but he is still allowing this filth in his district. Contact Jesse Moreno and ask him what on earth he is going to do about this disgusting mess! |

Murders of Latinos, Hispanics Jump by 24.5% YoY in Dallas |
Despite Dallas leaders' apparent obsession with phrases like “racial justice” (the stated motivation behind DA Creuzot’s disastrous theft-amnesty policy), Blacks and Hispanics continue to top the list of crime victims in Dallas. Those who truly care about justice know that every neighborhood deserves a stronger police presence. DPD needs to move from 3,000 to 4,000 police officers ASAP. Read more...

20-year-old Found Shot in Dallas Parking Lot Dies At Hospital |
No arrests have been made in the case of a 20-year-old who was found shot in a parking lot and later died in the hospital. We don’t know why the young man was shot, but it almost certainly could have been prevented if Dallas’s city council hadn’t allowed the soft-on-crime culture to fester. Crime gets worse; Dallas city council members do nothing. Read more...

Business Holdup Response Times Suffer Without 4K Cops |
Theft has spiked in districts around the city, and Dallas’s business community is certainly feeling the effects. Data from the city reveals that officers are taking a horrifying 39.3 minutes on average to respond to robberies! The inexplicable short-staffing of our police department ensures that criminals continue to thrive while businesses leave. Read more...

Each week the KDS team drives its planned route through Dallas photo-documenting and cataloguing illegal encampments to inform the city of these locations. Our team livestreams these activities giving the community a first-hand look at the vagrancy crisis in Dallas. In this episode, we expose an open-air "toilet" right outside of Dallas City Hall! District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez's
"Camo Camp" |
We named this camp in Omar Narvaez’s District 6 “Camo Camp.” The untrained eye may never notice it, but there is actually a vagrant camp in this photo! Don’t let the giant white tarp fool you, this isn’t just a well-organized pile of trash, but the “home” of a vagrant who refuses to get help. Vagrants steal public space for private use! |

District 10 Councilwoman Kathy Stewart's
"Wheels Camp" |
This camp in Kathy Stewart’s District 10 has been dubbed “Wheels Camp.” Vagrancy is the obvious way of life for the owner of this camp. Not only do they have a tent, but they have carts to transport their belongings, and a bike to get to their chosen panhandling spots around the city. Vagrancy is clearly a choice for many of the homeless in Dallas. |

District 1 Councilman Chad West's
"Contemplation Camp" |
This camp in Chad West’s District 1 has earned the title “Contemplation Camp.” What is this lonesome vagrant thinking about? He appears to be deep in thought, but it is doubtful that he is contemplating how he might get off the streets. Over the past months, this camp has been made more permanent, and multiple campfires have been documented here. Unsolved, the vagrancy crisis continues to put us all in danger.

Mission Statement:
Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
