Governor Signs Executive Order Awarding Funds to Help Families in Need and Encourage Workforce Development
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed Executive Order 2023-11D, directing Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program funding to initiatives that will assist? struggling families and encourage workforce development. The executive order distributes funds to the following agencies:
a. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Alliance for Children and Families in providing eligible families with housing and financial education in Stark County. b. Up to Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) will be used to assist Relink in providing community resources to help eligible families in Cuyahoga County. c. Up to Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) will be used to assist American Fitness Health and Wellness Institute in providing support services, such as housing support and workforce development training, in Montgomery County. d. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Catholic Social Services of Columbus in providing individualized assistance and emergency financial assistance to eligible students in Franklin County. e. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Center of Hope Family Services, Inc. in providing academic, social, and emotional support to eligible children through the ELEVATE after-school program in Lucas County. f. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Columbus Diaper Bank in providing diapers and baby wipes to eligible families in Franklin County. g. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation in providing support services in the areas of financial literacy and mental health awareness in Franklin County. h. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Community Building Institute Middletown, Inc. in providing workforce development training in Butler and Warren counties. i. Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Citilookout Trauma Recovery Center in providing counseling and group support to eligible individuals who have experienced trauma in Clark County. j. Up to One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) will be used to assist I?m in Transition: Recovery, Counseling, and Outreach Services?in providing eligible individuals in recovery with housing, health screenings, mentorship, and life skills development in Cuyahoga County. k. Up to Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000) will be used to assist Adoption Network Cleveland in providing parent education, resources to promote family resiliency, and increase the likelihood of successful placements for children in Cuyahoga County. l. Up to One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) will be used to assist Community of Faith Assembly in providing support services, such as personal and workforce development training, to eligible families in Cuyahoga County. m. Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Esperanza in providing services to address educational needs of the Hispanic community, including mentoring, family engagement, and postsecondary education in Cuyahoga County. n. Up to One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) will be used to assist Everlasting Covenant Ministries in providing case management, support resources, and temporary housing to those who are at risk of homelessness in Cuyahoga County. o. Up to One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) will be used to assist Cuyahoga Community College Foundation in providing workforce development training to eligible individuals in Cuyahoga County. p.
