A new poll shows us in prime position to win this primary!

Friend—This Halloween, I can’t think of anything scarier than Political Action Committees.

Every year, PAC representatives and politicians gather at conferences to package donations and provide incumbents with hundreds of thousands of dollars for their campaigns.

The race to succeed Adam Schiff in CA-30 is getting flooded with money—one of my opponents has already taken over $320,000 from corporate PACs such as Wells Fargo, Blue Shield, and Ernst & Young! But we know this campaign can win on a budget.

One of my opponents just released a poll that conveniently left me out of the picture. We’re used to being ignored, but it’s clear when you read between the lines: the vote is split enough between all these big-money candidates that just 13% would secure a spot in the top-two general election runoff.

I received 13% in last year’s crowded, 9-candidate primary election. With your help, and our strong base of support, we can do it again:

13% of the vote places us ahead of the longterm LA city attorney; ahead of a 16-year state legislator; with more than twice the vote of a charter school-funded LAUSD school board member, and more than twice the vote of the Mayor of West Hollywood.

I can win this election. But we need our grassroots donors to step up to secure our voter base and put a progressive, community-driven champion in Congress.

I ran for Congress against Adam Schiff in 2022 to call out the influence weapons manufacturers and foreign interest PACs had over our politics. Schiff has taken $37,000 from AIPAC in just the past two years. Last cycle he took maximum donations from Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing.

I respect Congressman Schiff’s work on the Trump impeachment and securing the democratic process, but we can’t keep letting PAC money dominate our politics.

If you are able, I’m asking for a contribution of $25 today, or whatever you can, to help us hit our end-of-month goal. Our campaign is growing fast, tripling our fundraising over the last two quarters, but we need more fuel to compete against all this corporate money.

It’s a spooky time of year. But with your support, and your solidarity, I don’t feel alone in this fight. Not one bit.

Yours,

Maebe
