Nebraska's pheasant and quail season opens statewide on Saturday, Oct. 28, and you don't want to miss it!

Learn what to expect in the field with the Upland Game Bird Hunting Outlook, and find places to hunt with the Stubble Access Guide and Public Access Atlas. For a fun challenge, see if you can complete the Upland Slam.

There's still time to get in on Halloween fun at Nebraska's state parks. This weekend, come enjoy various events for all ages ? including haunted trails, pumpkin carving, costume contests, trick-or-treating and more. A park entry permit is required; beat the lines and buy ahead of time online.

Mountain lion lottery application period is Nov. 6 to Dec. 13

Nebraska Game and Parks will accept lottery applications for mountain lion permits Nov. 6 ? Dec. 13, 2023, for the 2024 hunting season.

Permits are available only to Nebraska residents, who may have one permit per calendar year. The bag limit for each permit is one mountain lion of either sex.
