House Democrats are ready to work across the aisle to lower costs for working families and make our communities safer. With House Speaker Johnson, that isn’t likely.

Here is just a glimpse of his extremist record:

-Johnson has championed a total abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the woman and voted for legislation that would punish doctors for providing reproductive care to patients.

- Johnson was instrumental in the Stop the Steal effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election, with the New York Times referring to him as “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections.”

-As a former Chair of the Republican Study Committee, Johnson is on the record for slashing Social Security and Medicare, programs that millions of seniors rely on.

We cannot allow the GOP recklessness and extremism to be the new norm. As Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, I will fight tooth and nail to take back our majority, make Hakeem Jeffries Speaker of the House, and put an end to the GOP chaos — but I can only do it with your support. There is no difference between MAGA Republicans and the so-called moderates anymore. House Republicans voted for this and allowed Johnson to become speaker, proving there are no Republicans capable of standing up to the likes of Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and the GOP’s most virulent extremists.

While I look forward to immediately getting to work with House Speaker Johnson to negotiate a deal to fund our government, respond to the crises abroad, and make progress for the American people, I remain fiercely committed to taking back our House majority and putting an end to this GOP circus.
