After 22 days without a functional House of Representatives, Republicans finally picked a new speaker: MAGA Republican Mike Johnson. Here are some things you should know about the extreme new speaker:

🔴 Mike Johnson fully supports Trump's "Stop the Steal" Efforts: The New York Times wrote that Johnson was "a key architect of his party’s objections to certifying President Biden’s victory."

🔴 Mike Johnson is extreme on abortion: Johnson supports passing a national abortion ban – without exceptions – and celebrated the end of Roe v. Wade by tweeting, “Perform an abortion and get imprisoned at hard labor.”

🔴 Mike Johnson opposes LGBTQ rights: Johnson not only opposes marriage equality, he even wrote in support of the criminalization of gay sex.

🔴 Mike Johnson supports cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid: He even said that cutting these essential programs is his "#1 priority."

Mike Johnson is too extreme to lead Congress effectively, yet every single Republican member voted for him. To get the House back on track, we need to take back the House majority.
