John, new data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that 1 in 5 kids in the United States are living with hunger. That’s over 13 million children – some who are missing meals, others who are faced with daily uncertainty about food as their parents make tradeoffs between buying groceries and paying bills.
This is a heartbreaking tragedy, but it’s a tragedy that our lawmakers in Congress have the power to fix.
That’s why we’re looking for 20,000 supporters to join us before midnight in urging Congress to support families and kids by protecting the policies and nutrition programs that we know alleviate child hunger. In this moment of urgent need, we’re counting on you to add your voice.
So please, will you add your voice now to tell our legislators in Congress to protect and invest in crucial nutrition programs that support kids and families?

We were making huge strides toward ending childhood hunger before the pandemic started and once it hit, we mitigated what could have been a massive and long-lasting hunger crisis. That’s because of smart investments in critical government programs.
Now, those investments have been rolled back – and this latest report shows that our progress has been eroded. Kids and families deserve better. Because when kids are nourished, they’re healthier, better able to learn and more likely to escape the cycle of poverty.
That’s why it’s so important to ramp up pressure on Congress to protect and invest in programs like SNAP, school and summer meals and programs that help get grocery and expanded Child Tax Credit benefits into the hands of families. So please, sign your name now to join us in urging Congress to take immediate action to end childhood hunger.
