Hi Jack,
Welcome to the American Wild Horse Campaign (AWHC) team!
I’m Suzanne, AWHC’s Executive Director, and I’m writing to thank you for subscribing to our updates and action alerts! Your subscription makes you part of a global community of passionate advocates and helps us in our fight to fulfill America’s promise of lifelong freedom for our wild mustangs and burros.
One thing I’ve learned over the past 12 years, is that none of our work would be possible without people like you, Jack. My team and I sincerely appreciate your support, and we want you to feel proud to be a part of our work.
Perhaps I’m biased, but I believe AWHC is a special organization. One of the things that sets us apart is our comprehensive and multi-pronged approach to this issue.
Our work starts with grassroots advocacy and takes us to the halls of federal and state governments, into the courts, and into the field to show there is a better way to protect wild horses and burros and preserve their habitat.
In just over a decade, AWHC has:
➡️ Built the largest grassroots movement [[link removed]] in 50 years for wild horse and burro advocacy.
➡️ Set the standard for the conservation of these federally protected animals by creating the world’s largest humane fertility control program . [[link removed]]
➡️ Established a first-of-its-kind land trust [[link removed]] to acquire key habitat for wild horses and burros.
➡️ Defended wild horses and burros in court. Our lawsuits have set important legal precedents [[link removed]] that will impact litigation in this field for years to come.
➡️ Secured legislative language in Congress [[link removed]] to redirect funding away from traumatic helicopter roundups towards humane fertility control.
➡️ Introduced the first pro-wild horse legislation in Congress [[link removed]] in nearly 2 decades.
➡️ Passed legislation in California to improve protections for all equines from slaughter . [[link removed]]
➡️ Conducted investigations that exposed the dark side of federal roundups [[link removed]] , the off-range holding system, and cash incentive adoption program, the latter leading to a front-page New York Times exposé [[link removed]] and action in Congress to investigate this pipeline to slaughter for truckloads of wild horses and burros.
My team and I are committed to pursuing every avenue possible to fulfill our mission of securing lifelong freedom for America’s wild horses and burros — and we know we can’t do it alone.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be in touch with more ways for you to join us in taking action for these innocent animals. In the meantime, please follow us on social media to stay up to date on the work we’re doing to keep America’s wild horses and burros in the wild where they belong!

Thank you again for joining our community of advocates who cherish wild horses and burros, and the wild spirit of the West that they embody.
