John James hates a long memory. (Almost funny that his party’s logo is an elephant, isn’t it?)
As our district continues to tire of years of far-right obstruction and extremism, James wants to portray himself as a reasonable, moderate, common-sense type of guy.
So when I saw a local investigative group highlight how few of his donations are coming from within our state – let alone our district, I couldn’t help but look back through the archives to remind myself how John James continues to raise millions without even talking to our voters.
Oh right, it’s because John James received millions from Betsy DeVos, the Trump mega donor who has tried to defund the Department of Education from within and has helped bankroll efforts to undermine the election process in our state.

And sure enough, it seems like while John James *mysteriously* tried to downplay his relationship with Betsy DeVos once it received negative attention, the money he took from her and her family never really stopped.
It’s the same old John James.
It’s easy to laugh at Betsy DeVos for proposing absurd things like supporting guns in schools to ward off grizzly bears. But it’s deadly serious to have any member of Congress so in bed with any billionaire that his vote can be compromised.
