With just 14 hours remaining until our final report before Election Day, I wanted to share some important updates and reflections on our journey so far. Four years ago, when I was elected as the first woman and the first Democrat in two decades to lead the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney's Office, I knew we had an immense task ahead of us. 

Our mission has been to build a criminal justice system that embodies equality, justice, and integrity. Over these years, we've made remarkable progress, and I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved together. We've stood up to the divisive interference by MAGA state and national politicians who have tried to bring their politics into our courts. Despite these challenges, we have worked tirelessly to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. We are facing a critical moment in our campaign, and we urgently need your support. 

As much forward progress as we have achieved, that progress is now under threat. MAGA Republican extremists are working tirelessly to undo the work we've done and wish to take our community in a different direction. My opponent cannot be trusted to protect the values we hold dear. He refuses to commit to enforcing red flag laws that keep individuals in crisis safe from gun violence, and he poses a danger to women in our community with his ties to anti-abortion advocacy organizations. 

As we approach this crucial reporting deadline, I need your help to ensure we can continue this fight. Your support makes a difference in our campaign's ability to combat divisive politics and work toward a more just and equitable community.

Buta Biberaj is the first woman ever and the first Democrat in more than 20 years elected to serve as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Loudoun County, Virginia. Buta has modernized the office to focus resources on prosecuting violent crimes, tripling the number of prosecutors focused on domestic violence and sexual assault cases, and investing in prevention programs for veterans and those facing drug addiction and mental health needs. Buta’s approach is working: Since 2019, safety is up and violent crime is down 31%.
