** Welcome to the October African Harvest
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear friends,
Recently I was returning from Queensland, where I had a speaking engagement at one of our supporter churches. As the flight took off, I opened a book that I had been looking forward to reading, The Puritans: Their Origins and Successors by Martyn Lloyd-Jones. The man sitting next to me (let’s call him Carl) turned and asked what the book was about. As unlikely as it seemed at the time, he truly was interested! As you can imagine I didn’t get to read the book that day…our conversation became a gospel presentation.
God had already prepared Carl’s heart to hear the message of Jesus through me. I later learned that Carl’s wife had been praying for her husband to come to a knowledge of Jesus for many years, and I was thrilled that on this day, he couldn’t wait any longer. He said, “I want to do it now.” I prayed with him, and praise God, Carl turned to Jesus.
My passion for evangelism was flamed by African Enterprise more than 20 years ago and it continues. It’s exciting to follow Jesus. It is exciting to share his good news and it is exciting to see people turning to him for salvation. I will never tire of witnessing the Holy Spirit open the eyes and hearts of people as the gospel message is shared.
Dear friends, each day, this is what our teams are doing across Africa: sharing the love of Jesus. Some of them are sharing the Good News in very challenging environments, but they find peace and rest each night knowing they have given their all to share the gospel with people.
Please continue praying for their safety, that they won’t be discouraged when they are ridiculed or rejected for their zeal and faith in Jesus. Please pray for their health and their families.
Thank you for all your continuing prayers and financial support.
“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:37-40)
May the Lord bless you abundantly.
In Christ,

** Hope and healing after Cyclone Freddy
------------------------------------------------------------
In early 2023, Cyclone Freddy struck Malawi. The cyclone lasted five weeks, making it the longest-lasting tropical cyclone on record. It took over 1000 lives as well as leaving destruction and devastation in its wake.
The Cyclone Freddy Relief Initiative (CFRI) is an AE Malawi intervention that aims to provide relief activities such as relief items, trauma healing and counseling, and rebuilding of houses for victims affected by this disaster.

** Benoite’s life is all about Jesus
------------------------------------------------------------
Today, Benoite’s life is all about Jesus, but she says that until recently, her life was characterised by conflict, alcohol and neglect.
The Rwandan lady admits that she was living without hope and without God. Her alcoholism was controlling her whole life, and her relationships with her four children, her husband, and her neighbours were damaged.
“I just spent almost the whole day only spreading rumours about my neighbours, and in most cases such rumours were influenced by jealousy and characterised by jealous words.” Benoite says. “I started realising that I was in conflict with my husband because of my neglect.”
What brought Benoite to know Jesus?

** Pastor Francis’s exciting entry to evangelism
------------------------------------------------------------
Pastor Francis from Zambia has been training in evangelism with AE and says, “This training has stirred up my spirit and awakened me in the area of evangelism. I can now say I am equipped as an evangelist to share the Gospel of Jesus and win souls to the Lord.”

Please join us in praying for African Enterprise!
* Pray for provision and hope for widows, orphans and other victims of the Rwandan genocide. Even after many years, the impacts are still strongly felt.
* Pray that new believers who started following Jesus during AE missions would be quickly integrated into Bible-believing churches where they can be discipled and encouraged.
* Pray for the finances of African Enterprise. Pray that God would provide the finances and resources required for all activities, including missions, social action projects and training of ministers.
* Pray that God would continue to bless the women’s sewing project in Ethiopia, offering opportunities for women to be trained in a skill that can provide an income for their families.
* Thank God for the Lilongwe mission in Malawi in October, and pray that those who turned to Christ would stand firm in their new faith.
