Name,
Last week, [ [link removed] ]I called for a ceasefire. As a human rights lawyer, it has
been absolutely clear that the thousands of Israeli and Palestinian deaths
in the current conflict between Hamas and the IDF represent grave
violations of basic human rights law and the rules of just war. Our top
priority in this moment needs to be an immediate ceasefire to prevent
further civilian deaths.
On Sunday, I asked my opponent, an eight term incumbent who has approved
billions of military aid to Israel, what it would take for him to sign
onto the Ceasefire Now Resolution. His answer?
"It's complicated."
Let's be clear, Name. There is nothing ‘complicated’ about
calling for a ceasefire to prevent the death of innocent civilians.
Leadership matters. We must courageously uphold justice and international
human rights law in all matters to ensure civilians remain safe from harm.
Right now, that means advocating for an immediate ceasefire to protect the
innocent lives of both Israeli and Palestinian civilians.
I've been outspoken on this issue because I always lead with justice. If
you agree that we need a leader who is unafraid of putting justice over
politics, [ [link removed] ]I hope you'll donate to our campaign.
