I want to congratulate my friend and colleague, Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana on becoming the 56th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. I am confident that Republicans will rally behind him and continue focusing on important work for our country.

Our country is on a grim path when we have $33 trillion in debt, and Democrats in the White House and Senate have no real plan to solve it…
The southern border continues to remain open and unsecured despite numerous terrorists and countless drug smugglers being apprehended…
And the DHS, DOJ, and FBI are being weaponized against political opponents and dissenting Americans who do not share the same goals of the Biden administration…
All of these issues and so much more still matter, and I understand that these issues still matter to you. This is why I will always be here to listen and understand the unique issues facing the great people of North Dakota. It’s not a job I take lightly, and regardless of who becomes Speaker, my goals of putting North Dakota first and foremost won’t change.
