John,
Today, we aim to shed light on an essential legal tool that can protect survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and mitigate gun violence: Protection Orders.
Protection Orders are not just pieces of paper; they are life-saving instruments that can prohibit perpetrators from coming within a certain distance of survivors and temporarily seize firearms from individuals deemed to be a risk to themselves or others.
However, gaps remain in the effective implementation and enforcement of these orders, especially in relation to firearm restrictions. Additionally, we are 13 days away from when the Supreme Court will hear arguments in U.S. vs. Rahimi, and determine whether an individual subject to a domestic violence restraining order can be prohibited from possessing a firearm.

We cannot stress enough the transformative power of community involvement in creating safer spaces for survivors and at-risk individuals. Together, let's pave the way for better laws, stronger enforcement, and safer communities.
