I just got off the House floor and it’s official… Republicans just elected extremist Mike Johnson to be Speaker of the House.
I’ll admit, that like you, I had to google who this guy is. And folks, it’s some scary stuff.
Unlike Kevin McCarthy, Mike Johnson didn’t have to go 15 rounds and make a deal with the MAGA extremists. No deal was necessary because he’s already one of them. He’s literally friends with Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Just take a look at what Matt Gaetz said today:

The more we learn about Mike Johnson the scarier it is. A few things we’ve learned in the past few hours:
- He’s the architect behind Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election.
- He believes doctors should serve 10 years of hard labor if they provide abortion care.
- He said homosexuality was going to destroy “the entire democratic system”.
And now he’s second in the line of presidential succession.
