After three chaotic and embarrassing weeks for the Republican Party, Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) was just elected as the new speaker of the House. He's being painted as a middle-of-the-road workhorse who just wants to see House business get back to normal. That portrayal is dead wrong.

Johnson is an anti-abortion extremist who has repeatedly supported and co-sponsored national abortion ban legislation, celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and has spent his political career trying to rip away reproductive freedom and throw doctors in jail for providing care.
