Dear John, I promised to keep you informed about targeted Senate races. The good news is our Democratic candidates are communicating with voters about abortion access, good public schools, the safe storage of firearms, and other top-of-mind issues. When Virginians hear about how Democrats have been fighting for them, enthusiasm for electing Democrats grows. There are two important things you can do to bolster the Blue Brick Wall:
Please contact your list of friends and neighbors and remind them to vote. If you have college-aged children, remind them to vote, and don’t forget to mention that Virginia now has same-day registration on election day. That means a voter who is not registered can vote with a provincial ballot on election day, and the vote will be counted once the information provided can be validated.
If you are able, please make a donation so I can help fund efforts to send mailers into apartment dwellings and fund a robust social media campaign that Democratic strategists are asking us to implement. |
The challenge before us is we have to communicate with hard-to-reach voters. These voters do not normally engage in off-off year elections, but they share our progressive values and their voices need to be heard. Analysts tell us that these voters consist of young people (ages 18-29) and racial minorities. Many of these voters are unaware of what's at stake in this election. Important issues such as access to abortion care, funding public schools, implementing strong environmental policies and building an economy that works for everyone are just a few of the policy areas that will impact the quality of life of all Virginians.
It is particularly painful to know that large swaths of women are unaware of Governor Youngkin's long-term plan to ban abortion access. But our Democratic Senate candidates are fighting to protect the dignity and privacy of women by keeping abortions legal. It is worth noting that states that have at least one abortion ban on the books have some of the worst economic and health outcomes for women and families. Working with our national partners, the Democratic Senate Committee is making an extraordinary effort to increase voter turnout among women.
Your contributions will help us communicate with hard to reach voters.
I can tell you that our Democratic candidates are dedicated to helping their fellow Virginians. These candidates are running for the right reasons. You can be very proud of our team.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. |
