LANSING ? Today, Lashawn Wells, 46, of Detroit, was sentenced by Judge Charise Anderson in the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County to 18-40 years? incarceration for one count of 2nd degree Murder and an additional consecutive sentence of two years for one count of Felony Firearm, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Wells was convicted of each count by a jury earlier this month. ??
Following an altercation during a card game Wells fatally shot a 41-year-old Sterling Heights man nine times.??
?That a game of cards should result in murder is a tragedy, and I am grateful to see the jury bring accountability to this senseless crime,? said Nessel at the time of the jury verdict.????
This case was investigated by the Special Investigation Division of Michigan State Police and prosecuted by the Department of Attorney General.???
