John,
Mayor Breed is going directly to
the voters with three important initiatives to make our city safer,
save lives, and speed up downtown revitalization. She’s not letting
members of the Board of Supervisors or a politicized Police Commission
stand in her way of making progress for San Franciscans.
With
your support, we can make lasting improvements for all of San
Francisco with three critical measures on the March 5, 2024 ballot.
Measure #1: Safer San Francisco
Safer San Francisco empowers our
police officers with the necessary tools and rules they need to
enforce the laws effectively, while preventing unnecessary
interference from the Police Commission in community safety
efforts.
Safer San Francisco:
- Provides
our police officers with 21st-century technology to enhance their
ability to keep our city safe.
- Changes
rules to increase the presence of officers on the
streets.
- Changes
rules to get more officers pursuing criminals.
- Ensures
that the Police Commission prioritizes community safety over
ideology.
Measure #2: Treatment, Compassion and
Accountability
This measure requires single adults
who have a substance use disorder, and who want to receive cash
through our general assistance program, to participate in a treatment
program.
The epidemic of Fentanyl is like
nothing we’ve seen before. More people are getting addicted and dying
on our streets every day. If we want to see different results and save
lives, we have to do something different. Simply put, if you want cash from this
taxpayer-funded program, you need to participate in treatment.
You have to
try.
Measure #3: More Housing and a Revitalized
Downtown
The pandemic forever changed the
way people work and spend time downtown. This
measure temporarily waives the transfer tax on buildings
that have been converted from office to residential,
helping revitalize our downtown by encouraging investment
and building more housing.
By removing barriers to and
incentivizing conversions from office buildings to housing, we can
take vacant spaces, turn them into homes, and bring more people and
investments downtown. This is good for our neighborhoods and our small
businesses.

Francisco, your continued support is essential. Can

us.
Sincerely,
Team London Breed
