Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on several happenings in the district as well as Harrisburg.

Methacton School District’s Mallon Planetarium Visit

On Tuesday, I was invited to visit Methacton School District’s upgraded Mallon Planetarium as a sneak peek before the grand opening. Thank you, Director Adam Chantry for the tour of the planetarium, the night sky, and the earth below. Throughout the school year, classes will be able to utilize the space for astronomy, geology, and additional science and historical studies. The Planetarium is not just for Methacton students but is also available for outside school district classes who register and even the public, during public showings.

I'm proud to have helped secure grant funding for this project and I'm excited students will again have the opportunity to study stars, planetary objects, black holes, and more!

Election Reminders

Next Tuesday, October 31st, is the last day to request a mail-in ballot for the November Election.  On the ballot this year you will find important elected offices including Justice of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Superior Court, Judge of the Commonwealth Court, Judge of the Court of the Common Pleas, County Commissioner, Clerk of Courts, Controller, Coroner, District Attorney, Prothonotary, Recorder of Deeds, School Board Directors and more! Apply for your mail-in or absentee ballot today by visiting www.montgomerycountypa.gov/Vote-By-Mail.

Secure Drop Boxes will begin accepting Mail-In and Absentee Ballots beginning October 28th. There will be 12 drop boxes across the county. Specific locations and hours are available here.

Lastly and most importantly, Election Day is Tuesday, November 7th. Polls will be open from 7AM to 8PM. All mail-in ballots must be submitted by 8PM on Election Day.

The Wall That Heals

Upper Providence Township will begin hosting The Wall That Heals tomorrow, October 26 to Sunday, October 29. This Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica Wall and Mobile Education Center is free to the public and will be on display 24 hours a day at the Anderson Farm Park.

Tree of Life Synagogue Shooting Remembrance

On Friday, we will remember the victims and survivors of the Tree of Life synagogue mass shooting in Pittsburgh five years ago. We honor their memory by reaffirming our commitment to ending antisemitism and hate-speech in Pennsylvania while fostering understanding, compassion, and empathy in every community.

National Drug Take Back Day

This Saturday is National Drug Take Back Day to help individuals safely dispose of unneeded or expired prescription medications. Organized by the DEA, this program helps to prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting. To find a local collection site, visit dea.gov/takebackday.

Halloween

I wish you all a spooky-scary treat-filled Halloween on Tuesday! If you’re out, be safe on the roads, reduce your speed, and be mindful of all the trick-or-treaters.

Vaccine Clinic

My Vaccine Clinic with Giant Pharmacy will take place on Thursday, November 9th from 10AM to 1PM at the Lower Providence Township Building at 100 Parklane Drive, Eagleville, PA 19403.

Influenza, COVID-19 Booster, RSV, and Pneumonia vaccines will all be available. Please bring your insurance & pharmacy cards with you! Walk-ins are allowed but appointments are prioritized.
