We have some incredible news. The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO just endorsed our campaign for Congress. The Fed has over 300 affiliated union and labor organizations representing more than 800,000 members.
It is a true honor to be the endorsed candidate of organized labor and Los Angeles’ working families.
I believe so strongly in the power and values of organized labor and the labor movement. Unions work toward the collective betterment of our economy and society. Unions don’t only help those most in need, they build the middle class which contributes to an improved quality of life for everyone.
Having family members who have worked union jobs, I have seen first-hand the incredible impact union representation has on working families. This is why I have always felt the need to go above and beyond and champion pro-worker issues like better wages and workplace protections.
It’s also why I was proud to stand with striking workers all over our region, and it's why I fought so hard this year to pass legislation to extend unemployment benefits to striking workers.
