This month has been a DISASTER for Republicans and a clear indictment of their ability to lead.
Congress spent a total of 22 days without a Speaker, and today, Republicans elected extremist election denier Mike Johnson to lead the House.
That’s 22 days without action on critical spending bills, gun violence prevention legislation, and legislation to strengthen Social Security. And now Mike Johnson’s speakership poses a risk to our democracy, reproductive freedoms, and LGBTQ+ rights.
❌He supports a national abortion ban.
❌He sought to overturn the 2020 election.
❌He supports a ban on same-sex marriage.
