The despicable terrorist attacks by Hamas against Israeli civilians were obscene, loathsome, and require a strong response from the United States.
Hamas couldn’t have planned or carried out its attack against Israel without support from Iran, the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism -- and I’ve joined with Senator Tim Scott and several of our GOP colleagues to introduce legislation that will meet this pressing need.
Called the Revoke Iranian Funding Act, our legislation will halt efforts to provide billions of dollars to Iran. And it will increase transparency by providing Congress with more information about Iran’s high-value assets around the world that are currently subject to U.S. sanctions.
The Act will also rescind the release of the $6 billion to Iran to prevent the Iranian regime from using the funds to finance further terror attacks against Israel or any other nation.
Friend, this measure will not only deny sponsors of terrorism the means to carry out attacks, it shows the resolve of our country to stand with our allies like Israel to deter global terror and should immediately be approved by the Democrat-controlled Senate for Joe Biden’s signature.
