** MEDIA ADVISORY: Gov. Justice to visit Ramage Elementary on Thursday to highlight progress of GameChanger program, celebrate Red Ribbon Week

CHARLESTON, WV – Gov. Jim Justice will join GameChanger officials, staff, and students at Ramage Elementary School on Thursday to highlight the progress of the GameChanger initiative, help deliver a check from Boone Memorial Health to the program, and acknowledge the significance of Red Ribbon Week.
GameChanger ([link removed]) is a substance misuse prevention movement driven by students that is currently being implemented in 55 West Virginia schools spanning 18 counties. The program is the first of its kind in the nation and results from a service agreement between GameChanger and the world-renowned Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
Red Ribbon Week ([link removed]) is an annual awareness campaign throughout the country that encourages communities to promote drug prevention and education, emphasizing the importance of making healthy choices while raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
WHO: Governor and GameChanger Head Coach Jim Justice, Boone County Superintendent of Schools Matt Riggs, Ramage Elementary School Principal Loren Berry, Boone County Sheriff Chad Barker, Boone Memorial Health CEO Virgil Underwood, Boone Memorial Health Counsel and Chief of External Affairs Ray Harrell, Director of Boone Memorial Community Health Foundation Victor Farmer, GameChanger Executive Director Joe Boczek, GameChanger Director of Prevention Kim Legg.
WHAT: Visit Ramage Elementary to hear feedback about the progress of the GameChanger Opioid and Substance Misuse Prevention Education Program, which is currently in five Boone County schools.
